David Blatt

David Blatt was the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, until Friday when he got fired. He was replaced by the top assistant, Tyronn Lue. I was pretty surprised and shocked over this sudden decision, but there was a certain reason why he got fired. On Monday, January 18, the Cavaliers lost by 34 points to the Golden State warriors, which affected David Blatt. When they actually started talking about Blatt getting fired was the day when the Cavaliers lost to the Golden State Warriors on Christmas day. It wasn't much about because they lost, but how Blatt was rotating the players around differently and changing the player's roles. Lebron and the team were surprised when they got the shocking news on Friday. Some people are calling Lebron a "coach killer" because they think that he demanded Coach Blatt to get fired. Lebron said that it does suck that he got fired and he didn't have a say on getting him fired. This is true because the owner, David Griffin, confirmed that it was his own decision to fire David Blatt. On Friday, Blatt gave a short speech to the team and thanked everyone for giving him an opportunity to work with the Cavaliers. Tyronn Lue will not be a temporary coach, but will be the full-time coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers

Retiring Kobe

Most of you may know that this is Kobe Bryant's last season playing. He will be retiring once this season ends. He says that once he retires he does not want to be a coach because he wants to tell stories of his journey to others. Bryant has been playing professional basketball for 19 years, which is a pretty good amount of time. Kobe, also known as the "Black Mamba", is retiring for a couple of reasons, but these are the two main reasons. One big reason is that he has many injuries. He has had many injuries and many surgeries, and isn't as fit as when he started playing at the age of 18(Now 37). Another reason is that even though he is young, he's to old to be playing basketball. This branches back to his health because to play you have to be real fit. Once you start aging it is harder and harder. This shooting guard has had an incredible journey. Along the way he won 5 championships, 2 MVP awards, 17 All-Star awards, and much more. Tune in today at 6:30 to see the Kobe and the Lakers play against the Houston Rockets.
