Curry's Ankle

During game one of the Warriors v.s. Rockets, Stephen Curry had sprained his ankle. He was only able to play during the first half of the game and had to sit down the last half of the game. The Warriors still won game one, 104-78. Curry had still scored 24 points which helped out the team. When it came to decide if Curry was going to play game two against the Rockets, it was a very difficult decision. Coach Kerr finally decided that it was best if he would sit out the game, and rest his ankle. The Warriors still won game two against the Rockets without Curry. The final score being 115-106, is a pretty good lead they had. Now it had come to decide if Curry was able to play for game 3. This decision was even harder to make, but the coach decided to sit him down again. Curry insisted on playing because he said his ankle felt better, but coach Kerr didn't want to risk any further injuries to his ankle. The Warriors unfortunately had lost game 3 to the Rockets with the final score being 97-96. It was such a close game that the Warriors did indeed have a chance to win the game. Now today Warriors are going to playing game 4 and there is a good chance that Curry will be playing, but he is still probable. Hopefully he has recovered from his injury and is okay to play today. Without the team's MVP it certainly changes the game.

Playoffs Have Started!

On Saturday April 16, the NBA 2015-2016 playoffs had begun. Each team that made it to the playoffs was paired up with another team, from the same division, to compete against for 5 straight games. Whoever wins 3 out of the 5 games, moves on to round 2 of the playoffs. In the Western Conference, the Golden State Warriors were paired with Houston Rockets, L.A. Clippers with Portland Trailblazers, Oklahoma City Thunder with Dallas Mavericks, and San Antonio Spurs with Memphis Grizzlies. In the Eastern Conference, the Cleveland Cavaliers were paired with Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks with Boston Celtics, Miami Heat with Charlotte Hornets, and Toronto Raptors with Indiana Pacers. So far the Warriors, Thunder, Cavaliers, Hawks, Heat, and Pacers have one win while their opponents have zero. The Clippers, Trailblazers, Spurs, and Grizzlies have not played their first game yet and will play later today. Tune in every week to see new updates on the NBA playoffs!

73 wins?

The Golden State Warriors are so close to beating the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls record for most wins in a season. Right now they have 71 wins and 9 losses. They only have two games left, and they have to win those two in order to beat the record of 72 wins in a season. Yesterday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies was a really tough game for the Warriors to beat, but they won. At halftime the score was 83-80, with the Warriors lead by 3. In the last minute of the game, the Grizzlies were up by one point, 99-98. Curry drives for the lay-up and misses, but Green tips it in. The Warriors were now up by one point. The Grizzlies had a chance to beat the Warriors with just one shot, but they missed. The Warriors survived this game with the final score being 100-99. Today the Warriors are going to be playing against the San Antonio Spurs, and will try to get their 72nd win. If they win this game, then it is all up to Wednesday, against Grizzlies, to see if the Warriors will beat the Bulls record.

Celtics Break the Warriors

On Friday April first, the Golden State Warriors were defeated by the Boston Celtics. By the end of the first quarter the Warriors were up by 2 with the score being 23-21. Then by halftime the Celtics were up by 2 with the score being, 45-43. With the third quarter ending, the score was 82-79, with the Celtics still leading the game. Near the end of the fourth quarter it was really intense. The Warriors only needed a three pointer and they would tie with the Celtics, which leads to overtime. Curry shot the three and missed, then Barnes shot again with the last try and still didn't make it. The Celtics won with the final score being 109-106. Not only did the Celtics defeat the Warriors, but they also broke the Warriors record for home win streak. Their streak was 54 home wins, but now it has been broken by the Celtics. The Warriors have six games left in this season, and to beat the Chicago Bulls record, most wins in a regular season, then they have to win five out of those six games. To tie the record they only need to win 4 more games, but we all want them to beat the record. This will be really tough, but it is possible.
